I think you are correct that Al Goodman is Al Goodman [1] . He was the leader of the orchestra for Follow Thru on Broadway - http://www.ibdb.com/broadway-production/follow-thru-10824

But your google books ref is referring to Zelma's other recording of I Want to Be Bad on Brunswick 4204 with Ben Bernie, with Dick Robertson doing Button Up. Brunswick 4207 was recorded on Jan 21 1929 - http://78discography.com/BRN4000.htm
