Thanks, Roberto, but we have La-Do-Dada in the database and indeed written by Dale Hawkins and Stan Lewis and when listening to this work and the Gene Vincent one, I think the songs are quite different.............
What do you think?
CarlDennis
Well, I just listened to both versions (and the Blue Things one), and though the Gene Vincent's arrangement is quite different, I keep thinking they are the same song. Even the lyrics are very similar : "You are the one that drives me crazy" and so on.
I'm new on this site, so I don't really know how to behave, but I see you are one of the moderators, so I leave the decision to you.
Maybe, if you haven't listened to the songs lately, try and do it now.
By the way, Italian group Equipe 84 copied Gene Vincent's song for their "La Den Da Da".
Cheers
Roberto
PS: By the way, why CarlDennis and not BrianCarlDennis ??? Don't you like Brian Wilson ?
Thanks, Roberto for the additional comments. I am going on holiday to Greece tonight and will serioulsy listen to the various songs after my return and come back to the issue in two weeks or so.
We will leave this error report open and you will hear from me. In the meantime you can get acquanted with our SHS database and you will see that we had the Equipe 84 cover in the database: La-Den-Da-Den-Da-Da.....
Of course I do love Brain too, but I think that Carl Wilson had the most beautiful voice in rock and Dennis also had great performances on his track record.
Oh, and Brian is very much alive and the other two..............
CarlDennis
Roberto, I am afraid also other cover sites like cover.info consider these two songs as separate works! Now theft of ideas in art exists as long as mankind has made art, so even theft of lines for lyrics is all over the place in our database............
So we have decided to keep these works as seperate entities in our database.
But thanks for you input and keep posting!
