Error description

I observe numerous incidences in this hypothetical label.

The first (apparently unimportant) is that there is no identifying logo.

Analysis of direct visual information plus (non-visual) data from DISCOGS gives a total of 9 discrepancies related to the correct label.

Of the other discs (7) there is no visual support...

The NINE cases I'm talking about seem to belong to FOUR different labels:

EmArcy (2) --- UCCJ 2055 / UCCJ 2058

Decca (1) --- UCCD 1233

GRP Records (4) --- UCCJ 2001 / UCCJ 2021 / UCCJ 2025 / UCCJ 2048

Stretch Records (2) --- UCCO 1030 / UCCJ 3031 3

Finally, I leave an idea to reflect:

What kind of information are we using when cataloging a disc?

I would like to say that, in this case, the information used to catalog these discs was not adequate.

I've added the logo.

Dany, it's not if you see a Decca logo, it is automatically Decca. For Japan releases, it usually means a collaboration or license deal.

On recent CD compilations, I've seen logos of vintage labels that ceased to exist for years. If you can show me these releases were FIRST on a different label, then you have a case.

The kind of information we use for cataloging is the information of phonographic copyright, the prefixes (UCC) en EANs.

If you take the UCCJ page and click on EAN, you will see a perfect chronology.

Hi walt, I hadn't read this until this afternoon

(As you well know, Lately I've been very busy... philosophizing)

I know what you want to tell me... but look at a few things.

All the labels I say are current labels, living and not vintage labels.

I haven't seen the logo you added on any of the records.

This hypothetical label (Universal Classics & Jazz Japan) is not in discogs and that's rare Smile

This beautiful and perfect record grouping only follows one fact: the records were made in Japan.

In relation to the true concept of a record label, this grouping turns out to be, in my opinion, an artifact...

but well, one may be wrong...
