I know we had this discussion before. The point is, Goffin gets officially]/b] credited for the music... so do we really have very firm evidence he should not get the credit? It is not because he's a lyricist that he had no contribution in the music...
Check almost any Goffin/King song in the GEMA database.
I think our main concern is not "is he officially credited?" but "did he really write the music?".
