Legendary independent record label, based in Manchester and started by Tony Wilson and Alan Erasmus. The label was instrumental in popularizing genres such as post-punk, indie pop and dance rock. Factory Records also financed the equally famous Haçienda nightclub, that helped spreading acid house music and the rave culture in the United Kingdom, and is closely associated with the so-called Madchester scene.
