Musical comedy with music written by Kurt Weill, lyrics by Ogden Nash and book by S. J. Perelman and Nash based on the novella "The Tinted Venus" by Thomas Anstey Guthrie and very loosely spoofing the Pygmalion myth. It starred Mary Martin, Kenny Baker and Paula Laurence. Date is for the official Broadway premiere. This musical comedy opened at the Imperial Theatre and was moved to the 49th Street Theatre for a full run of 567 performances. The show was made into a movie in 1948: One Touch of Venus
