- Performance date is for the Broadway opening at the Majestic Theatre. This was Rodgers an Hammerstein's third collaboration and one of the least successful of their partnership, but still running 315 performances. The production was directed and choreographed by Agnes DeMille, and a young Stephen Sondheim served as a production assistant on the musical.
