Stage musical with a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, and music by Frederick Loewe. The story involves two American tourists who stumble upon Brigadoon, a mysterious Scottish village that appears for only one day every 100 years. The first performance took place as part of a tryout run at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut, before opening at the Ziegfield Theater on Broadway on March 13. It starred David Brooks, Marion Bell, Pamela Britton and Lee Sullivan.
Cast album Brigadoon recorded March 19 and 23, 1947, at the Lotus Club in New York City.
A movie version and soundtrack were released in 1954.
