Does anybody know where can I find the list of songs with the original performers?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rocky_Horror_Show is a good source but I can't realize them all.

The album is already in database, but it's incomplete (tracklist and details)

I have a book about it, but it's in storage at the moment. If you can wait until the summer I will be able to help (if the book's any good...)

in the request area somebody asked for the original performers of the songs of the rocky horror picture show. that reminded me, that i have this comp called "THE ROCKY HORROR PUNK ROCK SHOW". so i checked the posts of rocky horror-covers and only found two songs. and only one of them is on this record. it has been released on springman records in 2003. like everybody knows all the songs have been written by richard o´brian. all of the original performers will hopefully be added soon in the request area. so, here´s the tracklist:

1. "Science Fiction" - Me First and the Gimme Gimmes

2. "Dammit, Janet" - Love Equals Death

3. "Over at the Frankinstein Place" - Alkaline Trio

4. "The Time Warp" - The Groovie Ghoulies

5. "Sweet Transvestite" - Apocalypse Hoboken

6. "The Sword of Damocles" - The Independents

7. "I Can Make You a Man" - Pansy Division

8. "Hot Patootie (Bless My Soul)" - The Phenomenauts

9. "I Can Make You A Man (Reprise)" - The Secretions

10. "Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch Me" - The Chubbies

11. "Once in a While" - Big D and the Kids Table

12. "Eddie's Teddy" - Swingin' Utters

13. "Planet, Schmanet, Janet" - Tsunami Bomb

14. "Rose Tint My World/Floor Show" - Luckie Strike

15. "Fanfare/Don't Dream It" - Stunt Monkey

16. "Wild and Untamed Thing" - Gametime

17. "I'm Going Home" - The Migranes

18. "Super Heroes" - Ruth's Hat

19. "Science Fiction Double Feature (Reprise)" - TheAtaris

OK, according to my book ('The Rocky Horror Show Book' by James Harding, published by Sidgwick & Jackson):

The Theatre Upstairs, Royal Court Theatre, London SW3

Previewed 16 and 18 June 1973

Opened 19 June 1973

Usherette/Magenta: Patricia Quinn

Janet Weiss: Julie Covington

Brad Majors: Christopher Malcolm

Narrator: Jonathan Adams

Riff-Raff: Richard O'Brien

Columbia: Little Nell

Dr Frank'n'Furter: Tim Curry

Rocky Horror: Rayner Bourton

Eddie/Dr Scott: Paddy O'Hagan

Unfortunately the book does not say which characters sing each song, but this can be seen in the original cast LP rear cover picture in Patrick's thread already quoted www.secondhandsongs.com/forum/index.php?topic=16963.0. But note: on this LP, Janet is played by Belinda Sinclair, but she is not the original Janet. That was Julie Covington, who was not in the role for very long.

It seems the original cast LP has been reissued on CD: http://www.discogs.com/release/728474

Hope this helps.

All songs now added! And the track list of The Rocky Horror Punk Rock Show now finalised. Smile

Two songs (Eddie's Teddy and Charles Atlas Song) were not in the show when it premiered or when the cast album was recorded but I believe were added into the show late 1973/early 1974 while in London (before the run at the Roxy in LA). Jon, I wonder if your book gives the first performance dates for these?

Cheers,

Dave.

Hi Dave, unfortunately the book doesn't say anything about that.
