1) Here is a page from Wikipedia for the history of that song. All the way down the bottom of the page is some artists that covered it.

2) Not sure what country or radio station you heard your song in. A local band may have have recorded it.
Also a lot of radio stations have a website, most times they will have a playlist of songs that they played for the day. Some stations just keep them for weeks, others for years.
If you do a search using the call letters of the radio station, they might provide the playlist. An example of call letters would be WXPN, also if known, add the station ID 88.5 and you could also add the city of the station.
My example for a search close to a city near me would be: WXPN 88.5 Philadelphia, Pa.

Hopefully that explanation will help you and others find songs they heard on the radio. There are also websites that will tell you the title and artist of the songs you heard on TV series. All you need is the name of the show, the episode number helps, put that info in search, then you should be good to go.
