I've uploaded the ASCAP and ISWC refs so you can see how the song is copyrighted. The original authors are listed. Does that help - or just confuse things?
Sebastian
I hold my case, no doubt about it. It samples/interpolates the original ONLY, to be more exact: its intro. The credits are there for this sample of course.
As an example, if you hold it against the Sugar Minnott version there's nothing similar anymore.
Maybe we should treat as a sample? Bastien is still working out the best way of dealing with samples through the new copyright database system, however.
This is pending until the cover relation upgrade.
Mathieu says that he has fixed the sample relation issue now I've not tried it yet myself.
No, it's not a simple fix, we have to re-factor the objects.

Exactly - at the moment samples are linked to a performance rather than the work. Clearly where they are included in the copyright databases we need to find a way to link them to the work.

Mathieu has fixed this now. I've tried it a few times and it works like a dream. Give it a try
The fix is about authorship, I have no comment on that.
Still, it feels not right to see DIYA en WGAGTG listed on the same page!
In my opinion, the connection should be treated as a sample (whether it is replayed or not).

I agree with you.
I do think that now that Mathieu has fixed how to validate authorship for works that involve a sample, it will make this easier.

Looks like we need to do things to sort this long-standing error report:
1. Change the adaptation relation to "sample". This will sort out the visualisation point that Walt was complaining about.
2. Add a performance-performance sample relation too. Not sure why this wasn't added at the time of the original entry.
Do you agree?
Yes! I wasn't sure why you took ownership on March 9 last year
