It does seem like they are ignoring your request since you have asked twice or more about it. I would go under the DISCUSS button up top there and place your question on one of those areas.

I'm not sure what options they give members to add suggestions on, but on mine there is an area called Bugs and problems. You would think both editors and users would be able to make suggestions there.

If you don't see that one, there is also one called Feedback on the website/database. If all else fails, put it on all of them until you get a response.

And don't forget, it is the weekend, might be a good excuse???

It seems like this thread is now he said/she said semantics.

VV, I didn't have time to look at it. I'll check it later today. If you have other examples, please report it in the feedback board. That way it will stand out next time I have some time.

Again, I'm not ignoring anyone's request. I do have a day job where I manage to be a bit active on the forum now and then, but solving problems is in my own precious time.

I'm noticing a small glitch: If/when I try to click onto "add cover" I get jumped arbitrarily so some other place on the page. A second click is necesarry to enter the "add cover" page. I did not experience this before the change of the interface.

For existing originals or for new ones? How exactly is it more complicated?

KISS-- " My small contribution . . Submit new songs , seems more complicated than before . "

It is hard to keep things straight when the same words are used to mean different things, even if the dictionary def may fit, let's just stick to how SHS uses a particular word:

"For existing originals or for new ones?'''

1) Submitting a "NEW" song for "existing original" is submitting a COVER, right? Then let's use the word cover to mean that and refrain from calling this a NEW song. If submitting a song for an existing artist, THIS could be a NEW song or any other term that specifies/defined, new song for an artist in SHS database. (and cover-- since that is the only way for this type of submission)

2) or for NEW ones?? new what? For a submission w/ artist OR song not in the database at all, stick to NEW original, or New artist. or choose a synonym /another word (for eg 'unlisted" to mean unlisted in SHS database) for NEW, since any submission is "new" by definition. PLEASE please don't call any of these "generic" 'cause we'll end up going in circles.

PS I will try to refrain from submitting until all the kinks are worked out. My comments have all been ignored from direct response anyway.

Everything is explained here https://secondhandsongs.com/participate?activeTab=submit

Let me know if it still not clear.

Thanks, but I was thinking of new posters who might have trouble finding where to post a cover version , that's why I posted it seems more complicated than before .

I do think that it's not more complicated for a new poster. The way to submit a new cover (for existing original) has always been: go to the work/performance page and hit 'submit cover'. This hasn't changed at all.

If you don't know that yet, you might go to the "Discuss" section. It mentions something about add covers and redirects you to "Participate". That mostly useful for people who knew the old system already.

You might also (and probably more likely) go to the "Participate" section. If you have never submitted anything before, you'll be shown the "Submit" tab, where you have the whole explanation.

Hi, when I hit "Participate", it shows all the search options. I configure it my way (just to see the errors assigned to me), but after I process one of the error reports, the search criteria change back to default. I'd prefer it remained the same as I had set it firstly. It's just a minor thing, but at least I have some sort of feedback. Smile

Are you using the back button? Or clicking again on "Participate"?
