Alrighty... First the artist at issue, Chantal Pary, is not yet on site, I'm just getting a handle on her covers. The first release I've scanned has several adaptions (assuming all in French) that I believe are missing as well:

https://www.discogs.com/Chantal-Pary-Heureuse/release/3294032

The End of the World

To Know Him, Is to Love Him

Help Me Make It Through the Night

You've Got a Friend (This is the second version of this one I currently have in my notes. See https://secondhandsongs.com/case/72541 ....

Second, the song that has triggered this post is the adaption of Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet .., as I'm not familiar with the history of its derivatives. While I could safely assume that this cover is a further French adaption of A Time for Us ..., there's a chance it's actually further derived from What is a Youth? ....

So my query is a) is this en Francais and b) which English adaption is being covered?

For official submission, see....

a) this is in French (French lyrics by Eddy Marnay

b) this is a cover of the 1969 French adaptation by Tina

Of course that just moves the question to Tina's version. Is it an adaption of "A Time" or "What Is"?

I don't see where Tina's performance has been submitted.

It's not an adaption of both, IMO it's just an adaption of Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet

"Love Theme" is an instrumental. The adaption at issue has lyrics.....

But all the versions with lyrics are treated as adaptions on the site (see attachment)

Yes, but that doesn't answer which adaption is the "root" of the French version at issue.

Now I see what you mean.

Un giorno per noi is an adaptation of A Time for Us which on his turn is an adaptation of Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet

and this is because Cheope used the lyrics of Larry Kusik and Eddie Snyder to write this Italian version.

On the other hand another Italian version Ai giochi addio didn't use the lyrics of another version. So the words of Elsa Morante for that version stand on their own and are an adaptation of Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet

Now for the French version you mention. The words for that version were written by Eddy Marnay and didn't use the lyrics of both English adaptations, so that version also stands on his own and is an adaptation of Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet

Now we're on the same page and (assuming you are correct) answers the question. I don't have the earlier French version that you referenced, but if you submit it, I will attach the later version I have confirmed to it.

Well, as you have also submitted the Pary version in your post, I see no need to do a third. I would appreciate the courtesy of your including a cross-reference link to my earlier submission (as I regularly do for others):
