Dear visitors, contributors and editors, please welcome from Florida: David King !

His hobby is to collect foreign language covers of English songs, which explains why you will now see Khmer cover versions in the database! You have to be a little research-masochistic to index these covers, but we're very happy to have found someone who happily enjoys it Smile

Also a special thanks to Sebastian, Michael and Piergiorgio for the support in the training process.

Good to have you on board, David. I do enjoy working with you, so I am ever so glad you are a full editor now.

How is your Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese? I am still struggling with some entries suggested for the Finnish original Surun pyyhit silmistäni in https://secondhandsongs.com/case/64003

I had no problem with the Finnish and Russian, but I do balk at Chinese!. Smile

Thanks very much everybody for the warm welcome, and the help!

It was a struggle at first, but now I've gotten to the point where I have just minor errors. I'm really starting to enjoy it, now.

As far as the Chinese goes, it isn't so easy (those lyricists are hard to find). Piergiorgio pointed me to some good resources, though. I've even considered going to my favorite Chinese buffet, and telling my waitress "I'll give you a $10 tip, if you'll translate this for me.". Grin CarlDennis, I'll try to help with that, if I can.

SlimD, that was really cool, thanks!

Oh, I discovered the map yesterday. I just added myself. Our Brazilian and Russian editors look awfully lonely!

Go to CASH , and copy/paste the first Chinese performance name into it. For the second performance, go to MACP . I see MACP has a second performer listed. Does this help? I see that they have the Pinyin for the song titles. Google translate seems decent for Pinyin spelling, as well.

Those PROs are on the bookmarks list, if you need them again.

You might have Piergiorgio look at that, as well, he has helped me with my Chinese submissions.

Thanks to all who chimed in recently. I've already had the pleasure of working with some of you, and I am looking forward to working with the rest.

Nap, I have 15 Portuguese adaptations, 5 of which are not on SHS, yet. A couple look like they have performances by different artists, so those should be simple. Brazil seems to be an oddball, there are 7 PROs. I think one of them acts as the clearinghouse for the other 6. Nap, is that correct?

I looked through the 635 adaptations in my collection, 170 are not in SHS. That in itself should keep me busy for a while.
