Following up on the various other vacation posts, it's my turn now Happy

I'll be out of town from tomorrow (13th) through next Friday (19th) enjoying one of my favorite hobbies - visiting amusement parks and riding roller coasters. I plan to hit Carowinds (near Charlotte, NC), Kings Dominion (near Richmond, Virginia) and Busch Gardens Williamsburg (also in Virginia) before heading home, so I won't be around much if at all the next week.

There are still quite a few classic old wood coasters around. I rode one a few years ago that's been in existence since 1937 (Blue Streak at New Conneaut Lake Park near Erie, PA)

I imagine wood coasters are bonus points? Smile

Does King's Island still have The Beast?

Yes they do. That one won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Bastien: They're not all that uncommon really, and there are newer ones being built still.

Got back from my vacation last night. Had a great time - visited 3 new states (though one of them I'd been through on a train years ago), 3 new amusement parks and rode 33 new roller coasters. I also put over 1500 miles (2400km) on the rental car during my trip Tongue

Better their car than yours. Smile I'm glad you had a lot of fun.
