Botch-a-Me was a huge hit for Rosemary Clooney in 1952, but I'm unable to determine if she was the first to do it. Anyone here able to help?

On a related note, I also found a German version on YouTube ("Gerna möcht' ich küssen" by Renée Franke) supposedly from 1952 but I'm unable to find that recording on anything other than the 1986 compilation album Ding-Dong Boogie, so if anyone has the original release for that, I'll add that one to the site as well.

There are actually three German covers of Ba-ba-baciami piccina: by Renée Franke, Erni Bieler and by Sonja Siewert.

I'm afraid up to now I was only able to find the last one: Gerne möcht' ich küssen as performed on Amiga by Tanzorchester Leipzig d. Staatl. Rundfunkkomitees - Leitung Kurt Henkels - Sonja Siewert.................

Will keep looking for the two others, Michael!

There was a competing version by Frankie Carle on RCA Victor 47-4921, but no further details... FWIW, our RCA Victor label page would place it around September 1952.
