Texan mduval32323 , also known as Mark, has been one of our most prolific users. Before joining the team he had almost submitted 2,000 missing covers!

I guess it won't surprise you that Mark owns 20,000 CDs and edited well over 1,000 Wiki music pages... this year Smile Other impressive stat: A 70,000 itunes list, with 99.9% of the songs populated with the exact songwriters and album art. It contains probably every charting song back to the 40s.

In other words: DashBoardDJ856 , sebcat , CarlDennis , you are the most productive editors of 2019 ... but I wouldn't be suprised if Mark caught up with you by the end of December! Wink

I need guidance on the Editor's Notes box for sources on Recording/Release dates vs. just putting those sources in External Links.

Releases: Recording Date/Release Date....Release date has to be populated, recording date when known. I always copy the URLs of the sources in External Links, but I have also been citing the sources in the Editor's notes w/ hyperlinks - e.g., [[url|Release date per Praguefrank or 45cat.com or Discogs...]]. I have now been instructed to just put the URLs of the sources in External Links only and no reference in the Editor's Notes. However, this isn't an option for Performances.

Performances: Recording Date. I was told when known it's required to be populated (and for much Country music it's available on Praguefrank). There isn't an External Links section for Performances and if I populate the Recording Date I must fill in a source in the Editor's Notes. So is my doing [[url to Praguefrank|Recording date per Praguefrank]], correct?

I typically just put "Recording date from " in the editor's notes and leave the links in the external links instead. There are external links for performances as well, just not in the create performance form. Once the performance is created, click on the v next to "Edit" and there's an "External Links" option there.

Thx Michael. No I didn't know there were External Links at the Performance Level if you reopen that page. I do see them now. So I can add them in a roundabout way by reopening it after submission. Perfect thx. Seems odd just not have them appear in the initial Performance setup screen then.

I accept the challenge, but he is going to have to quit his day job.

Better luck next year!
