Dear Editors and Contributors,

I have the pleasure to anounce the winners of the 2019 awards! Congratulations!!

High Quality Entries: DashboardDJ856 and sebcat

The most evenly distributed votes: 7 different editors got 1 vote 2 editors got... 2 votes! That's all it took to win this category this year Smile It also tells us that many editors are doing a great job, making it hard to pick the winner.

What people have shared about Wayne:

- He is very consistent

- Did an enormous amount of work last year!

Most Contributed to the Project: sebcat

With 7 out of 12 votes casts, there can only be 1 winner in this category! Almost a stalinist score Wink The community has spoken loud and clear.

What people have shared about Sebastian:

- Powerful notations

- Always eager to improve on quality at SHS

Most Contributed to the Community: CarlDennis

Taking the award with 3 votes out of 11 cast, our Dutch friend with his original sense of humor Wink Learning: Everything works better with a smile!

Most Contributed as a Certified Contributor: Jeff Chamberlain

This was always going to be a tie between dany and Jeff, but in the end dany got 3 votes and Jeff 4. Jeff that's really well deserved, dany next year perhaps? Smile

What people have shared about Jeff:

- Jeff is the quiet worker in the background and he is good, very good!

That's all for this year folks, thanks for participating, and see you next year!

Ok...egos have been stroked...doesn't mean shit to a tree...a lot of people didn't think it was necessary.....so can we now end this trivial nonsense and concentrate on something more important...there his been many suggestions on fixing this eyesore, that we call the Homepage....can we please do something soon about it!!!

Wishing everyone the best in 2020!!! Smile

Didn't vote, so I had no dog in this fight. I will add that the winners underline the problems with this type of election:

I work with DB (Wayne), Seb (Sebastian) and Thom (a notorious thunder stealer) all the time, but does that mean that other editors aren't as good, bad or quirky? On the other hand could it be that this high interaction is a function of both deep (high site activity) and broad (across all genres and languages) by these editors? I suspect the later.

Similarly I have a much greater exposure to JC's contributions than Dany's, likely due to greater overlap in personal interest. I pulled up a list of Dany's most recent submissions, and none are of personal interest at first glance (i.e. foreign titles that I can't readily identify), but this means nothing regarding total value to the site.

I will say that contributors who do go those extra miles to provide cat#s and the like should be rewarded with something other than a completeness score, as that's something I will likely never do. Smile

I'll also note that JC's win should be the final nail in the "backlog" discussion coffin. I may be wrong, but what I see cycling through the participate queue indicates that JC will separately submit each cover from a single release. I see this as dedication and extra effort; apparently some see this as "backlog".

Anyway, I certainly have no "can't believe (s)he won" thoughts here, and that's means something.
