While reviewing a release, came across a likely cover of Mambo Italiano .... I'm not familiar but was curious so looked it up on site, and based on the number of entries it looks like I should be. Ignoring the adaptions, what struck me was that the cover history is a handful of covers in the mid 50s soon after the original's release and then nothing until Mambo Italiano in 1998 followed by a relative ton of additional covers.
Since currently there are no "revival" or "definitive" tags, I am wondering what recording put this work back on the musical map. Is there a definitive recording?
