Strongly hoping this mess is immediately solved.

Agreed Clee J . Are you able to fix your entries?

Someone is acting in the shadows Smile

Yes, I took care of a couple of album entries, most of those by retired editors, and also added attachments to a few.

Obviously, not all are automatically EMI releases. Some were also issued on (just) Electrola, Harvest and other sublabels.

I had only one on the list. Originally created as a Columbia release, it was for some reason changed by Walt. Now changed back...

Good cleanliness.

In these cases it is better to opt for the transfer. Move the release from one label to another.

You know why I'm saying that?

These are things that happen here.

That record...

Einer für Alle

... is clearly from the Columbia label because we're not blind.

The nexus (connection) with the EMI company (visible on the frontcover) would lead us to place that release in EMI Columbia

In SINGLES

1C 006 3x xxx series

Fixed the Schlümpfe release. I'll go back and look at the Columbia ones I changed and fix those too.

I don't know exactly why you're saying that, but it's quite exactly what I did wherever applicable.

Most updating editors seem to alter the labels but don't touch the EMI Electrola label series their additions were attributed to. We may have to think about this aspect, too...

Updated the Columbia releases and fixed the label series for those as well. It looks like the only two listed from me under EMI Electrola now were the ones actually released on that label.

Probably, we'll need to transfer many (most? all? - I didn't scrutinize) EMI Columbia releases to Columbia [EMI] (which also needs a closer look while still 'a baby'; see also what was said here) - or simply rename EMI Columbia...

I'm going with the albums now.

Der Nippel

Ein Mann, ein Mädchen ---> EMI --- See the word EMI in the upper right corner of the frontcover

Em richtije Veedel - De Bläck Fööss singe Leeder vum Willi Ostermann ---> EMI (probably) --- See DISCOGS --- Use the word EMI and see this: Label Code: LC 0542

Headline

Zwei Herzen im Dreivierteltakt ---> His Master's Voice

Die 20 schönsten Lieder der Meere

All mine have now been moved............. CarlDennis

Lately, I was a little disappointed with the subject of record labels at SHS. I haven't taken Bastien 's creation into account. Mainly because I respect nikitoz555 a lot... his great idea...

But, undoubtedly, something needs to be done.

These two Columbia labels:

EMI Columbia

Columbia [EMI]

... are the same label.

And I think the correct name is Columbia [EMI]

How to do this is not an issue where I can participate (fusion, transfer,...)

I think I've answered your question.

If any idea was left in the air you tell me

That's what I meant.

I call this phenomenon: double cataloguing.

In my opinion, it's an idea that comes from DISCOGS.

On this issue I stay with RYM: a release ----> a label and only one.

We have entities (as labels) that are not labels (proper) but companies, and we also have divided labels (without a weight argument) for geographical-political reasons.

There is one thing that is greatly influencing and it is an error of concept:

"a series is something sacred and belongs only to one label"

This is fake. We know that a company can use several of its labels in the same series.

In my opinion, It's a Real Good Feeling is now properly classified.

Indeed, a logo appears on the frontcover... and it says this: EMI Electrola.

This logo refers to the company which, as we can see on the record label, is: EMI ELECTROLA GMBH.

This is a case where we must differentiate between the observable logo on the label (the word EMI with large red letters) and the company logo, which appears on the disc sleeve.
