In the past, the only way to alert editors to a post was to add a read-receipt to the message, which could only be cleared by replying. Hence the Read tradition. Nowadays, we can use mentions to alert editors to a post. These don’t need a reply to clear the alert; they just require you to read the message. I think editors have gotten in the habit of replying with Read even though the messages no longer reply it Smile

Oh, thanks for the explanation, much appreciated. Happy I thought, when in Rome... you know!

I am really excited about this feature! I've looked at several languages and still don't get enough. It's a great opportunity to discover various nations' top (original) hits.

BTW: I've noticed we have too many "Norwegian languages" in the list: 1) Norwegian, 2) Nynorsk, Norwegian, 3) Norwegian Nynorsk, 4) Norwegian Bokmål, 5) Bokmål, Norwegian. (At least two of them shouldn't be there.)

Removed 2 of them.

This new enhancement (while interesting) doesn't really do what my earlier suggestion would do, so not sure why I was mentioned?

Brilliant! I had a similar, shorter list already of my Brazilian song collection, but now it's much longer and updated daily, nice!

True.

This being said, I do appreciate these little "Read" replies. It feels like... people are reading my posts Smile Smile Smile

Being the son of a Norwegian mother: Only 4) = 'main'/modern Norwegian, and 3) = 'parallel'/locally spoken but ethymologically older, are needed.

And yes, a nice new feature!
