Nice! I wasn't aware of this source...

Regarding its own icon, I think it would definitely be useful. Currently we don't have any YouTube/Spotify link for many performances from 20s/30s - if we had the Archive link (but no icon), a user would see no sign he can listen to them.

How to prevent such cases from happening? Considering we don't have much space for another icon, maybe we could show the icon only if YouTube/Spotify link was missing - or something like that. That would mean 1) there is enough space for this icon, 2) users can see immediately they could listen to that performance.

I agree with this nice suggestion, if this is technically possible…

They didn't, but they will now. New Spotify links didn't generate edit reviews either.

Great job!

I appreciate the effort to make a proposal, but I'm not convinced. If the display of the icon is conditional, I'm afraid it will confuse users.

This being said, this means we have 2 votes in favour of the icon ( Oliver One dudek ).

It would confuse them less than seeing no icon at all, I guess. ;-)

I make extensive use of this resource and sharing it with our users is a good idea. The interface design needs work but I have no suggestions right now.

IMO, the conclusion of the first paragraph is very logical, so we should always show the archive.org icon.

IMHO, overloading the icons space could be prevented if the archive.org one overrode Spotify's (if link existing). This for the logical reasons that archive.org is available to everybody (which Spotify isn't), and in addition can be trusted to present the genuine release (which Spotify can't).

= One more vote pro.

Related question: At one time, many autgens available to me were blocked for the Euro editors. Does this remain the case?

I had suggested that SHS create some VPI? (can't remember the term) to allow blocked vids to be viewed/heard, but the idea was shot down, presumably for solid reasons.

I've implemented a solution for the player icon: the Internet Archive icon takes up the first "free" spot in the icon column. If YouTube and Spotify are available too, the column will get a bit larger.

Let me know what you think of it.

Interesting approach.

When all players are available for at least 1 version in the list it looks like this:

Amapola

If not, it "saves" column width

Billy Boy

However, it should save column width, but there's a space here:

attachment

... which is not there in Amapola example?
