hello! i´m urgently searching for a cover of beach boys`surfin usa, which i found on a mixtape without tracklist i recorded in 1993.

it is neither blind guardian, nor jesus and mary chain, nor melt banana or pennywise. i thought it was either faith no more or red hot chili peppers, but that seems to be wrong. can anybody please help me??

It's a cover from the song "route 90" forformed by Clarence Garlow in 1954. Chuck Berry covered as "Sweet little sixteen" Other versions by King Biscuit Boy and Johnny Winter.

Thanks, I added the cover of Johnny Winter and a couple of others I found. But I can't find any evidence that King Biscuit Boy covered the song. Do you have more specific information I can check?

Could it be possible Rockola has the same Originals book as me? We seem to have the same info Wink

Koan, the cover is listed in there as being from '84

Also the author suggests that Route 90 (and Surfin' USA) have been strongly influenced by the song Hackberry Hop (1935) originally by Leo Soileau & His Three Aces.

I can't find any evidence the cover is from 1984. The cover appears on the album "Serious Business" from 1985. I have found with google a remark that it's listed on an album "Black & Blues", but I can't verify this. I will do more research after lunch Happy
