Language stats

This new feature allows you find out which language is most used in the covers of this database. With over 90% cover songs in English we certainly encourage you submit some non-English cover songs.

There are currently about 30,000 covers in the database. Why are only about 16,000 accounted for here? Do earlier listings not include language info?

You might not have noticed, but in August last year, we added some extra fields to the database tables and we started revising all the data entered before August 2005. These new fields include catalog numbers for mediums and language for songs.

After a year of revising (which is a huge task!), we have almost done half of the old songs. This explains why about half of all songs have language properties.

It will take at least another year (probably even longer) before all the old songs will be revised.

Here in Finland we love our own language and we have many,many coversongs in finnish. I try to get these here

(even some songs).
