- Date formatting: "(xxxx-xxxx)".
Example: 10,000 Maniacs member: Robert Buck Lead guitar (1981-2000)
- Beware to use the hyphen/minus "-", and not the em dash "–"
- Date formatting for multiple periodes, use a komma as separator: "(xxxx-xxxx, xxxx-xxxx)".
Example: Accept member: Udo Dirkschneider Vocals (1971-1987, 1992-2009)
- If there is no ending date, replace it by 3 full stops: "(xxxx-...)".
Example: Jason Singh Member of TaxiRide Vocals (1997-...)
- Date formatting: "(xxxx-xxxx)".
- Instruments: Indicate the instrument an artist is playing in a band, not what kind of musician he is.
Correct example: Andy Summers Member of The Police Guitar (1978-1983)
Incorrect: Andy Summers Member of The Police Guitarist (1978-1983) - Do not use "former" or "ex", use dates instead.
- Start with a capital.
- Do not end with a full stop, except if you're writing a complete phrase.
- Avoid including artist names since they are already on the artist page.
- Couples: use "Husband" and "Wife". Do not use "Married".
Example: Dick Stabile is related to Gracie Barrie : "Wife (1937-1945)"
- Members of an artist alias: use "Member of Artistalias".
- Separate multiple items of the same type (e.g. instruments) by a comma.
- Separate multiple items of different types (e.g. instrument and another comment) by a semi-colon.
