- Definition
- Objective
- Structure label pages
- Identify possible errors
- Creation
- If a label series becomes extremely long, it's ok to break it up in parts.
Example: CK 45998 (1990) and CK 46019 (1991) are part of the same number sequence, but split over series CK 45xxx and CK 46xxx
- If a label series runs over different labels, create it on the highest parent label.
Example: The series (any) 32xxx contains releases from both the parent label Columbia and the sublabel Columbia Masterworks , and was therefore created at the Columbia level.
- Label series based off catalogue numbers have priority over labels series based off bar codes. (G)
- If a label series becomes extremely long, it's ok to break it up in parts.
- Note: They are entirely SecondHandSongs custom-made.
- Name (G)
- A series' name should be as close as possible to the structure of the catalogue number.
- If the length of a catalogue number is fixed the name of the series should have the same number of digits, letters or spaces.
- If the length is variable any optional character should be set between brackets.
- All common characters should be represented as such.
- All variable characters should be represented by "x".
