Guidelines / Tools: Editor Notes

  • Visible for Certified Contributors and higher levels, not to regular users.
  • Use
    • Name sources used, referring to specific fields if necessary
      • Explicitly name your sources. If you refer to them as "first" or "second external link", this will get lost over time as the order of the external links will change also.

        Example: Recording date from Praguefrank

    • Any relevant research information
    • Explanations regarding confusing/complicated/conflicting sources, and the rationale behind choices made.
      • This is a must to avoid other editors incorrectly "correcting" your data!
    • Explanation of changes made to existing entries
  • Sources mentioned in the editor notes must reflect the sources that were used to enter the current data.
    • If you don't change any data, don't remove sources, but add additional sources if deemed relevant.
    • If you change data replace original source by your source.
  • Do not treat dead links otherwise than live links.
  • Both internal and external links are accepted.
  • Use mark-up to hide the external links. (G)
