Like our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter
NB: We don't expect you to create a Facebook account if you don't have one. But if you do we'll give you editor access, and you can post anything you deem cover song-relevant.
Get editor access to our Facebook page
Link your SecondHandSongs account to your Discogs account.
If you don't have a Discogs account, create it first.
This is how it should look like on your User Profile:
Communication
Give a short presentation (anything you want to share) in the forum thread with your name
Use the forum to communicate, this will allow any editor to jump in
Avoid PM and email for any database-related subject
Submissions
You can continue submitting covers on public website, but beware you're only making your own To Do-list longer.
Also, as an editor you won't be using the submission form anymore, except for web covers.
Process a submission using the "Create" buttons
Reattribute a submission to a different work
Register a performance
Essential reading list
Make sure you understand the difference between a Works and a Performances .
Process your very first submission
Go to Participate > Unprocessed Own Submissions
Choose a submission with the green "Cover" label (NOT with the blue "Generic label)
Click on "Assign to Me"
Start processing...
NB: This will create the weird situation where you're asked to rate your own submissions. This is not an important matter, do what you want with it.
Handle the Error reports assigned to you
When we spot database entries that need to be improved or corrected, we will assign Error Reports to you.
Don't be suprised if you get an impressive amount of error reports, and certainly don't take it personal:
It's part of your training process
It's inevitable to make (a lot of) mistakes in the beginning
While you're in the training process, please wait to set error reports as processed until more senior editors have confirmed all is ok
Reattribute an error report to the relevant database entity, and also the editor asssignation (if needed)
Handle the Unassigned Error reports submitted by you
With your new powers you're able to edit entries created by retired editors.
Use these new access powers to clean up the list of Unassigned Error reports submitted by you, that have probably remained unprocessed for some time.
Assign an error report for a mistake that has been made by an active editor different from the owner of the entry.
