- Young was backed by the Oscar Peterson Quartet consisting of Peterson, Barney Kessel, Ray Brown, and J.C. Heard. They recorded together in NYC and the performances were released on three albums. Lester Young with The Oscar Peterson Trio - #1 and Lester Young with The Oscar Peterson Trio - #2 were released in June 1954. This release was the third album. For unknown reasons it wasn't credited to both Young and Peterson's band like the first two. The tracks from all three albums were later reissued on one compilation.
