In 1954, ninety-four of Leadbelly final 1948 recording sessions were split into two releases, Leadbelly's Last Sessions [Volume One] and Leadbelly's Last Sessions [Volume Two]. This release is a reissue of those ninety-four tracks plus two more 1948 recordings - Disc 1, Track 29 "Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues (which was mistitled as it's actually a performance of "Alcoholic Blues"), and Disc 4, Track 1 "Somebody's Diggin' My Potatoes". This was the first release of "Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues". "Somebody's Diggin' My Potates" was previously released in 1948, Digging My Potatoes.
Tracks 1-1 to 1-35 recorded September 27, 1948
Tracks 2-1 to 4-3 recorded October 15, 1948
Tracks 4-4 to 4-23 recorded November 5, 1948
