American blues singer from Jewett, Texas. Some sources claim that he was the cousin of Lightnin' Hopkins, but no direct kinship has been established.

On the label "Alexander" is credited, which wasn't unusual for traditionals.


It should be noted that there is a discussion whether or not this is an original for "The House of the Rising Sun" (as usual with 'traditionals' there is more than one, sometimes quite different, in this case like the version of Leadbelly). So it should be remarked that is not clear whether this is one of the originals, but it should be in the list with such a remark. (at least IMHO)
