Additional comments and sources

Sources used: I have this track on the V/A - "Tarantino Experience" (CD2 - Track 2) but i couldn't find any official release from the time they were recording (early 1960's) . I can only find this cover on several compilations released in this century. Can anybody help?

Also, does whistling and screaming count as an english track or as an instrumental?

I took a shot, but nothing found. I also checked the autogen vids for useful dates, but no luck.

I'm having the same issues with their cover of There Is a Time ..., so whoever works on this might as well keep an eye out for both:

I'm beginning to think that these tracks are new recordings under the Fendermen moniker made especifically to be included in this Best Of and other compilations. Probably the answer can be found in the booklet of this Best of.

Here's the Allmusic review that leads to think what i'm guessing.

"This brings together all the recordings the Fendermen made for the Soma label, including their lone album and assorted non-album sides. It's a oddball blend of rockabilly, country, and guitar driven rock & roll, with a marvelous DIY spirit infusing it all. This also includes later recordings by the offshoot group the Muleskinners and newer recordings by guitarist Jim Sundquist which are overall much less effective, but don't hurt the package too much. This album also exists as an audiophile vinyl pressing on the Beat Rocket label sans the later recordings, making for a much tighter listening package."

It's not under what I think is the right entry for the "Muleskinners" at issue:

I agree that the Ipswich, UK, recording Muleskinners seem unlikely to be the same band as the one possibly recording the version in question. Their seemingly only LP, The Same as Always (= https://www.discogs.com/Muleskinners-The-Same-As-Always/release/5408298 ), which actully even includes "Muleskinner Blues", was added by (now retired editor) Rodders200 in Feb, 2019.

Apart from that, I didn't find anything really helpful.
