From the movie Tin Pan Alley (1940).

Performer credit from the album cover (with the discogs misprinted report of "Dakie" actually being Jack Oakie). The actual performers on this song are Alice Faye, Betty Grable, and (I think) Billy Gilbert. (The performance is often credited to Betty Grable alone.)

Performance also appears on several other releases (variously credited):

Hello Jeff,

Another old one.

When I look at IMDB, I see this info:

"The Sheik of Araby

(1921) (uncredited)

Music by Ted Snyder

Lyrics by Harry B. Smith and Francis Wheeler

Sung and danced by Billy Gilbert, Betty Grable, Alice Faye, Princess Vanessa Ammon,

Fayard Nicholas, Harold Nicholas, and chorus girls in London production number"

I should add this as a "New Broadcast" for the 1940 film since this is where it originally comes from.

But there is a difference between the info on the performers according to IMDB and the 1978 LP version.

Do you have any idea who sung this in the 1940 film?

Greets, Dirk
