Only the root work and relevant adaption(s) show on that page. The "Versions" tab shows you a list of all the performances grouped by language, etc. There you will see both earlier and subsequent submission....

Why is Anniqa's version of "Lad mig gå" not a "relevant adaption".

Youll newer get a link to the Hugo Hein version as ther only exists a single known copy (privately owned) of that record

Words like "work", "adaption" and "performance" are terms of art on SHS. There are likely better and official explanations/definitions on site, but as I see things:

Neil Diamond writes a song (a root work) and shops it around to the popular artists of the day. Management for the Monkees buys some song rights, and the band records/releases it (a performance). Some Spanish songwriter hears the Monkees' version and translates the song into Spanish (a derivative work/adaption). A Mexican garage rock band records/releases the Spanish version (a performance).

In other words, works and adaptions are relatively intangible musical creations. Performances are the relatively tangible product of works that come into existence when an artist officially releases something that can be heard by the public.

So for the matter at hand, Anniqa's recording is a performance and will be listed on site where performances are listed. Only works are listed on the link you provided.

Thank you fore your long explanation

Say I just try to find performances of Thøger Olesen adaption "Lad mig gå" ?

where are performances of "Lad mig gå" listet ?

On the obvious page : Lad mig gå

The only reference is that first release was by Hugo Hein

How do I ever find Anniqa's recording in this case ?

The link Lad mig gå takes you to that derivative work's page, which shows the root work Release Me (And Let Me Love Again) first and then the adaption of your interest. That page defaults to the Original tab. There you will also see additional tabs, including Versions.

Clicking on the Versions tab will provide a list of all of the performances that have been processed (i.e. confirmed by SHS) and submitted (i.e. provided by contributors like ourselves but haven't been confirmed by SHS) grouped by work. They are generally ordered root work first, instrumentals second, third et seq alpha beta by derivative work's language. Scroll past the English root work and the instrumentals to the Danish adaption, there you will find the recording for which you search.

You can also got to Anniqa …, which defaults to the Highlights tab. Clicking on the Covers tab will list all of the covers confirmed/submitted for this artist, including the performance for which you seek.

Tanks again for your time and explanation.

Maybe it would be a good idea to have this explained in the FAQ or in the "Introduction to the database".

Its a bit odd that additional performances of an adaption are buried in the Covers tab.

SHS has come a long way from it's original incarnation, resulting in an organization structure developed over years of experience, trial and error. Moreover, the original creators and most of the editors are not native English speakers, so some terminology reads imprecise to Americans. Once one gets a basic level of understanding of this organization and terms like "work" and "performance", it will make more sense.
