We got reviewed by the Vietnamese website "Tuoi Tre Online". Unfortunately we don't speak a word Vietnamese so if anybody would be so kind to translate the main ideas we woud be very grateful.

      • We have received a translation, many thanks Tran Nguyen and Hung C Nguyen. Check below in this thread to read it.***

This article introduced about this interested forum. They listed some names of artists and songs that were copied. The reason why they introduced the forum is because now there are many Vietnamese songs are copied from foreign songs, and Vietnamese are against this trend.

And here is the translation:

Secondhandsongs : Cover songs in the world

Secondhandsongs is an interesting website on the internet. This website is mainly about English songs that have been covered or copied by one or more artists.

According to the owners of the website, there are 27308 songs (7968 originals and 18264 covers), 10712 albums and 14762 artists. There are two other cover songs databases, one in German and one in English. However, as these give only very little background information it is difficult to check wether they are 100% correct.

According to this website, John Lenon's songs have been covered the most with a record of 1576 times by 167 artists. Second is Paul McCartney (1510 times by 178 artists). Third is Bob Dylan (473 times by 147 artists).

For example, world's famous song, "Let It Be" by The Beatles (1970) has been covered by no less than 32 different artists. (...)

(... paragraph about the latest submissions...)

Cover songs are thus not only common in our country but also around the world. Most of the cover songs actually originate from classics.

(.... paragraph about most covered albums...)

In conclusion, one is able to see which artists are doing nothing else than copying other people's work. Hopefully Vietnamese cover artists will also be exposed on this website soon.
