Anyone have any info about the German version? I remember some of the lyrics =

"Aber heute ist mir nun klar..das was du gasagt hasst, so oft gasagt, ist nicht wahr...fuer immer"

"Deine Welt wird weiter gehen aber meine Welt bleibt stehen....Ich bin allein...fuer immer."

Interesting suggestion, Joop, but I can't check this since a song "Du" by Mary Roos on Spotify is a totallly different work and lyrics of Mary Roos songs are hard to come by. But you are probably right since as far as we know, there is no other German cover of I Who Have Nothing available..............

Bedankt,

Thom

Here are the lyrics (including audio) of the Mary Roos version and the Renate Pichler version. The original poster definitely was referring to the former, and the two texts appear entirely unrelated.

So, Jim, the lyrics you remembered derive from the Mary Roos song...........

PS Thanks to Matthias............
