Christopher Reynolds, Professor of Music at the Davis University of California and immediate past president of the American Musicological Society, based an analysis of Beatles covers on SecondHandSongs statistics. He also included a short introduction to SHS and, of course, we feel honored.

Prof. Reynold's article was published on Musicology Now.

I have long maintained that the database could be used for serious research. This is not the first time that the database has been used for such, and I hope will not be the last. It is because I want the site to be used in this way that I am so adamant about all editors doing their best to obtain thorough information and to be as accurate as possible. We won't be taken seriously if the site is too error prone or does not provide adequate information.

For Chris Reynolds original post on his use of SHS, see A blog post about secondhandsongs.
