Medley - half instrumental, half vocal

I found this while searching for covers of "Goodbye" from White Horse Inn.

Ignoring the fact that "The White Horse Inn" isn't on here yet, this presents an interesting situation. "The White Horse Inn" portion of the medley is vocal, while the "Goodbye" part isn't. Is it possible to mark part of a work as instrumental? I haven't investigated on the test site yet since there are plans to reset it soon and I haven't fully researched "The White Horse Inn" yet (the operetta that these songs are from was originally in German so I need to figure out what the original German title was and who wrote it before I add the English version).

As far as I know there isn't a way to mark it. You can add a comment, of course.

It is a situation that comes up from time to time. Particularly complicated if you have adaptations. Say a medley of instrumental "Silent Night" and vocal "Away in a Manger." The SN part would be tied to the original "Stille Nacht," which would mean it would show up as being performed in German.

That would be "Im weißen Rößl", and there appears to be decent information on wikipedia to get you started.

There is indeed plenty of info on the internet about it. It apparently was quite popular for a while - it premiered in Germany in November of 1930 and an English version appeared in London less than 6 months later, and there are several recordings in both languages from those years. Not sure who did the original recording of either, but I'm sure we can track that info down as well given all the resources devoted to historical recordings and 78rpm records.
