The Finnish lyricist Sauvo Puhtila is a very prolific translator and lyric writer. I just added Kotiin kun saapuisin illoin to the SHS database, the only foreign cover of Cole Porter's You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To ...................

And now he has 400 works in the database!

Over the years the Fins have abundantly covered works from all over the world apart from having a very fruitful pool of composers and lyricist of their own.

Sauvo Puhtila was the No. 1 lyricist in Finland and passed away in 2014.

He will still be missed in Suomi!

I love SHS!

Wow, quite unbelievable... Not only the number of his works, but also that the SHS crew was able to notice so many works by one author from Finland. Impressive!

Maybe we should offer this milestone to some Finnish media so that we attract more attention there...

Indeed, Jan, the Czechs lyricists still have some work to do.................

Zdeněk Borovec now stands at 122 works in the SHS database, Ivo Fischer at only 36 as does Zdeněk Rytíř ! but who knows.................

Kind regards from Holland,

Thom

I know I'm submitted a batch of covers and new works from this guy and I would bet I have a decent number still to go. The Finns and Czechs do a nice job with their Discogs entries. The French and Spanish would do well by following their lead....

That's beautiful, especially for a man from this fascinating nation. His Finnish must be impressive.
