Hochpops!

Anyone know anything about this album? The label just credits "various artists, bands and orchestras", but I'm thinking it might have been made up of various Telefunken singles (I've found versions of two of the songs from the album by artists on the Telefunken label). I'm just crediting the recordings to [Unknown Studio Artist(s)] for now.

Which ones are you referring to?

Du, du, du for example...

Released by Angèle Durand on the Telefunken label in 1952:

And the version from Hochpops:

I'll have to go look and see what else there is.

Well spotted!

That makes Hochpops! a tricky entry! Probably a compilation less relevant for us...

Have you tried Shazam'ing the remaining tracks? Smile

I was able to get results for some of them...

"Hernando's Hideaway" - Evelyn Künneke

"Gelbe Rose Dort in Texas" - Lys Assia

"Sie Hieß Mary-Ann" - Rolf Simson

"Ich Hab Sehnsucht" - Evelyn Künneke

"Was Kann Schöner Sein" - Lys Assia

"Schuster Bleib Bei Deinen Leisten" - Sylvia Dahl

I'll do some digging and see if I can find the releases of those.

Added "Hernando's Hideaway" and "Ich hab' Sehnsucht".

"Sie hieß Mary-Ann" is already on SHS.

Also found a recording of "Heimweh" by Rolf Simson (on the flip side of "Sie hieß Mary-Ann"), though I'm a bit confused by that one - there's also a recording of the song by him on the Telefunken label (supposedly from the same year) but with a different backing group. I've just added the one on the Decca release for now since that release was already on SHS.

It appears "Wohin du auch gehen werst" may have been the Rolf Simson version as well. Will look into that when i get a chance.

Found versions of the other songs mostly on the Telefunken label as well (though a few were on Decca) and added those. Still need to verify the artists for "Tenderly" and "Ganz Paris träumt von der Liebe".

I noticed. Added that one last night as well. Just need to verify that it's her version appearing on Hochpops and need to verify the artist for "Tenderly" as well.
