Found a really unusual situation here...

On one of the many albums released by Die Schlümpfe, there's a cover of a song titled "I Can Still Believe". The original artist is listed as "Richard Jacques" (a British film/TV/video game composer) in the notes on Discogs.

Long story short, after much digging (and initially mistakenly assuming it was a cover of Judith Hildebrandt's song of the same name), I found that it was actually used in the video game Metropolis Street Racer - a game that Richard Jacques composed music for (though I'm not sure what part, if any, he played in this particular song). However, Judith Hildebrandt's song is the only one with that title I can find that was a hit on the German charts

As if that weren't confusing enough, everything I'm finding indicates that the Schlümpfe album was actually released before the video game.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
