"Why" (aka "Why Do The People Have To Fight") by Children of the World

Found this while reading up on actor Hervé Villechaize... The album says it was written by a "P. Kantner" with English adaptation by "E. Penny". ISWC shows the authors as Paul Kantner and Edward Penney, though some of the entries for the album at Discogs credit Pierre Kartner instead (which would make more sense). Anyone know what the original version of this is?

The original is by Pierre Kartner aka Father Abraham, who wrote more than 1600 songs..... so it's no surprise I do not know the original version.

The Vader Abraham clue was actually quite helpful. On a whim I plugged his name and why into YouTube's search and found this...

That's a German adaptation of this...

So that gives me all the info I need, plus an additional adaptation to add in there
