All according to the website UKCHRISTMASTV, 24 December 1982 was not the very first television release of Peter Auty's Walking in the Air from The Snowman based on the 1978 children's picture book of the same name by Raymond Briggs, it was actually 26 December 1982 when The Snowman premiered on British television channel Channel 4.
