"showing you 'how far you are in the process.'" I am laughing-- that's the same thing as complete or not complete -- you have finished/gone through the process-- 100% i.e. completed/completeness so again hat's the diff?
The difference between a progress meter and a completeness meter has been discussed in detail already. It really isn't that hard understand once one understands the different goal of each; however, the repeated use of "complete" when discussing each meter can cause some confusion....

Read. Same questions and objections as previously.
New ticket created #3137: When Completeness score is lower than 100%, display elements that were missing.
Now you have to motivate editors to vote it high up the priority list
I don't know what this "new ticket" or "motivate" means.

Checked-out. I'm not sure why. (I'm not trying to be difficult, or restart old conversations, but I don't see this list as responding to my earlier questions or objections.)
List of missing data is now shown in tooltip.
Great job, bro!
Jeff, check it out

We file tickets in Trac when we want Mathieu to implement changes to the site. Then we get to vote on which changes we want to see implemented, but the thing is each of us only gets 6 votes at a time so you have to convince us why we should vote for your idea

You can submit a missing cover, finishing the process, but without completing all the fields. The latter is the new metric displayed.

True.
Therefore, ticket #3142: Rephrasing submission form progress
Objective: Reducing confusion with the Completeness score displayed after submitting.
In the submission form:
- Rephrase Submission completeness to Progress
- Remove The more complete, the faster our team will be able to process it.

Added "Ticket" to the Glossary

Don't worry.
Share another earlier question or objective? One at the time preferrably.

One example: If the credit on a new submission does not exactly match a credit for the same artist in the database, the form does not recognize the "new" credit name. (E.g., "jane Doe and her quintet" vs. "Jane Doe and her quartet.") So as a submitter shall I enter the "right" credit not improv(improving the submission score) or the "right" credit (the one on the submission but not as entered in the database, choosing accuracy over completeness), or the "wrong" credit (the closest match to an existing data base entry but not as the artist is identified on the release, sacrificing accuracy for completeness), or am I expected to enter the "right" credit and then hand-fill the rest of the identification information (that already exists in the database under one of the "not quite the same" credits)?
See, e.g.,

JC this is the workaround situation that I've referenced earlier. The "Completeness Score" means nothing to me but "attaching" a submission to current SHS entries is of high importance to me. I would sacrifice accuracy for attaching every time, which will also improve "completeness". You have made me think about how best to handle this situation from opposite angles. Perhaps a dedicated thread on the matter is in order....
