We're further opening the database for Certified Contributors: They can now add real names to artists, identified as "person", and without any real name set. ...
Without commenting on specific cases in the meantime mentioned in this thread, but mainly on the "More Rights for CC(')s" topic headline: I'm surely and always appreciating each and any profound and useful additional input proven by evidence, backed by applicable links etc.
However, some established editors (oh, another new term! ) incl. myself are starting to wonder if soon their only 'privilege' will be the time consuming research and adding of artists, releases, works, adaptations, versions et al, whilst otherwise privileged users may find themselves in a comfortable position to simply double check and add details.
Although changes to 'my' entries by CCs may be included in daily reports (hopefully - some posts reveal this is not always the case, yet) and enable to 'triple'-check (like editors' changes):
I'd prefer to for evaluation be notified about possibly missing data - rather than having to review changes not done by (here it comes again ) established editors (whose changes I mostly review).
For this, we may consider to introduce an internal (sub)thread (of f.ex., https://secondhandsongs.com/board/10) dealing with addtional info, questions re: details of entries being questioned/doubted etc. This should be fully avaliable to editors and CCs.
As the vast majority of error reports is being posted by editors and CCs, this would also decrease the number of publically visible possible errors (often not really being such) remarkably, which again would add to our credibility.
PS: Yes, I will try to remember to open a thread to discuss what was said in the last two paragraphs...
