Years ago I stumbled across the song Cindy as done by Dutch band The Cats, but only discovered tonight that it was a cover. However, I was surprised to see that the original is listed as being in German because The Cats' version is in English (but no English adaptation exists on site at the moment).
After further research it appears that the English lyrics were written by the same people who wrote the German lyrics (and the Swiss single by Peter, Sue & Marc shown on Discogs even has the English lyrics on the sleeve), but I need help figuring out what single to use for Peter, Sue & Marc's English-language version. A YouTube video for that version says it was a big hit in South Africa (#3 on the Springbok chart), but given that they're from Switzerland and we have a Swiss-issued single with English lyrics on the sleeve, I'm not sure which one to use.
