I would greatly appreciate another set of eyes on this dilemma. I wanted to add a song by a early NY black actress/singer named Edna Thomas called "I Got Shoes". Fresno State had said it was recorded on Columbia in 1928 and released 1929. It's on DAHR as well. Recorded June 14, 1928 on Columbia 1863 D. I even found a nice bio page of her that has her full discography and it's mentioned there as well. So I looked to see what 45Worlds had and here's the rub. They only have UK Columbia releases by Edna Thomas (and I'm pretty certain it's the same person). Well she's American so I would obviously defer to the US releases. But this is the problem. 45Worlds has her releasing "I Got Shoes" on a UK Columbia single 3345 in 1924. In fact it has several UK singles released in 1924 by Edna Thomas. So I'm at wits' end here. I get that DAHR only captures American recordings but I saw nothing in her bio that indicated she lived in Europe and recorded there and I'm shocked Fresno State would be so off (they also have another song she recorded called "Nobody Knows de Trouble I Sees" with the same issues 1924 vs 1929 that also needs to be added to SHS). Any help here would be great so I can add the earlier or later releases. I just can't imagine 45Worlds would be off 5 years on Columbia UK release dates either. Edna did have a 1924 release on Columbia US that was recorded in July so I guess it's conceivable she recorded a bunch of sides not released in US but were in UK??? but then surely DAHR would have had the recording session for "I Got Shoes" if it had her 1928 recording.
