"Try" by Stan Freberg - adaptation of "Cry"?

Back in 1952, Stan Freberg recorded a song called "Try", an obvious parody of Johnnie Ray's version of Cry

I can't determine though whether this is close enough to the original melody that it would be considered an adaptation. The label and ISWC don't credit the original author.

It seems that this work is not an adaption.
