When users submit originals, but don't follow-up with covers, these submissions will get a newly created "On Hold" status.

Full query here.

This comes on top of the flag we were already displaying on the submission itself:

With this enhancement, we hope to achieve the following:

  • It will be more clear to submitting users that their submission will not get processed unless they also submit cover versions.
  • Editors will not unnecessarily spend their precious time processing submissions only to find out there are no cover versions of it.
  • When needed, we can easily query the "on hold" submissions.

This enhancement was discussed in this forum topic (internal link - not everyone will have access).

Mentioning a few users that recently posted orphan originals, a little nudge for them to submit cover versions also: Forrest Hogg Tunesmith HBKKSZ2000 EMPIRE BRY ANT Glenn Habel tillywilly17 Rodney Holler mexybeck Alberto Sanchez jojo Jari Aalto LeightonMedia Bamche edgarebro2021

In the 1st attachment I see 3 original versions of "Accidents Will Happen" !!??

How is this possible ??

BTW The real original is a version sung by Bing Crosby with Dorothy Kirsten recorded April 11, 1950 in New York.

Oof! What a mess indeed!

I created the work and the Sinatra version: Accidents Will Happen

... thinking I could link the other 2 submissions to the newly created work but that's impossible.

Mathieu should I file a ticket for being able to do that?

Bing Crosby version from the movie created: Accidents Will Happen

What should be shown here (& what should it link to) if there are multiple linked submissions?

Good idea!

As an editor, I occasionally wish there were a similar status where I could park orphan entries. i.e. I create a musician/release/work; after further research, I find that the original reason why I created them does not quite work out, but I consider it likely that there will soon be another reason for me to use that entry. Under the current system, leaving the entry in the database will get it flagged, encouraging us to throw away perfectly good research. I'd rather have a way to mark it as "in progress" (possibly with a time limit or quota, if the numbers turn out to burden the database).
