Empty artists

Hello.

Searching the database I found an artist that apparently has no covers or any music to his name in the database: Dee Jay (3), there's also not any links so it can be known who he actually is.

What should I do when I find cases like this? do I report it so its deleted or do I leave it there in case someone sometime can find a cover song to his/her name?

This particular case is a clear error, the band was added minutes before this one, so something went wrong, solution here is a merge with Dee Jay

But your question is of course broader. Currently, editors can consult "orphan" lists with empty labels, performances and releases, but not "empty artists"... It would be interesting to see how big this list would be... something for Management to work out. For now, I think error reports are allowed only in "full empty" cases (like this), when no pic and bio info is present.

Artists with missing info can be found in the missing info lists. For example there are 44,000 artists without a visual, and 85 “orphan artists” without links to a release, performance or work.

Thanks, I'll report this one as an error then. If I found others with image or name or something else that gives room for identification I won't and I'll try to research if they have covers instead.

I think most of us are not aware of this possibilty, maybe something to present on the editor board as a new "error" list?

Obviously, if the artist is non-orphan, it's perfectly ok to post an error report with missing bio details.
